I’ve fallen….I’ve fallen hard! I never expected this to happen, let alone so quickly! It’s been four weeks since we first met, but I already can’t get enough. My mind is constantly racing, I can’t sleep and my heart is pounding out of my chest. Funny thing is that a friend introduced me, but she meant to introduce her sister. Her sister wasn’t interested though, so I jumped in with both feet, and boy am I glad that I did! Too bad we only have four more weeks left….
It feels like I’m becoming a bit of an addict. The whole thing is just such a total surprise because this is not at all what I would have envisioned for myself, let alone being invested so fast. It might just be a phase, but right now I’m enjoying that I check all the boxes of feeling in love…you know:
- When you just walked out the door and all you wanna do is turn around and go back for more… Check!
- Feeling as if there are butterflies flying in your stomach…Check!
- Wanting to tell everyone about how amazing this special thing is….Check!
- Having a über high energy level…Check!
- Losing weight…Never check this, but my booty is shaping up nicely..so check!
Am I addicted though, or is it just the endorphins talking? Tuesday evening! I hop on my bike. The air is brisk. It’s dark and foggy. Hurry up Mo, they might not wait for you if you show up late. Time for my new love…Girlpower Boxing!!! I feel pumped, excited and just a tiny bit anxious. The latter ‘cause I’m a bit different and need extra focus and sometimes special attention during class. I hope I won’t bother anyone with my handicap tonight. Being a lefty! Sometimes there’s just no way around it….
I’m the only lefty in the group of 22 chicas, and our trainers show every movement for the right handed people. Being a visual person, I have to flip the image around in my head first and then try it out, so I’m always one step behind of all the other girls. What makes the whole thing even more hilarious, is the fact that my left-right coordination is flawed…to say the least!! My friends thankfully know that they always have to use their hands to point me in the right direction. If they just say ‘Go left Mo!’ 90 percent of the time…I’ll go right!
So yeah, every Tuesday and Thursday these skills are put to test. I fail almost every time to a tee, but it’s just so freaking much fun and I laugh hard and a lot at myself for being such an idiot. Fortunately, for me my buddy finds it funny too and has a lot of patience and doesn’t take things too seriously. She keeps on smiling, even when I hit her straight in the face, because I punch to the left, when the assignment was to punch to the right. We have to yet give each other a black eye, and we still have all our teeth, so I guess we’re good! Nevertheless, I’m very surprised that she still wants to partner up with me ; )
I’m just so happy that I found this special something something. The adrenaline pumping through my veins, the laughter, the awesome tight body and clear mind are just all so very addictive, I’ll be sad when the eight weeks of training are over, but I’m glad that I got to experience this wonderful feeling. I’m in such an amazing flow and feel so fit now, I’m gonna have to continue with something just as exciting! Up next…Kickboxing or Pole fitness….?
